Spirit Fruit (Daily Devotional)

Greetings! and thank you once again for this opportunity to be able to come to you and spend these few moments with you. We trust that these daily devotions are encouraging you, strengthening you in your walk with God. It's always our delight to just share these brief insights from the word of God and trust that they will bless your life, as you grow in Jesus Christ. This week, we're talking about Spirit filled living, what it means, just highlighting certain aspects of Spirit filled life. Today, I want to remind us that Spirit filled living means we bear Spirit fruit. All of us are familiar with Colossians chapter 5, verses 22 and 23 where it says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace kindness, meekness, goodness, temperance, faith against such there is there is no law that prohibits such expressions of such things. In Galatians chapter five, what Paul is telling us is as believers when we are to walk in the Spirit and when we walk in the Spirit, we will not express works of the flesh, but instead we will express fruit of the Spirit because our lives are so controlled, so under the influence of the Holy Spirit. So instead of expressing works of the flesh which he lists there, anger, jealousy, and all kinds of sin and so those being expressed through our lives, what are we expressing? His love, joy, peace, kindness, meekness, gentleness, self-control, faithfulness, these are things we are expressing. Paul says that is an expression of a person who's walking in the Spirit, living in the Spirit, being led by the Spirit, or being filled with the Spirit. That is what spiritual life is about, these are the things that are expressed through our lives, the fruit of the spirit. So, as you and I, yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit and say Holy Spirit fill us each and every day, help us to live Spirit filled lives, we can see evidence of Spirit filled living by the Spirit fruit that comes out through our lives, in everyday situations, in day-to-day situations let this be seen in our lives. Let's pray, Oh God, we ask in all situations, in all circumstances, let Spirit fruit be seen, let the expression of the Holy Spirit be seen in our lives, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
