Hello and welcome, you're watching Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People's church. We're so glad that you could join us here even as we look at God's word and we study God's word in order to apply it in our lives and God really wants us to live life in the supernatural realm. This week, we've been looking at understanding the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And so today we look at how the gifts of the Spirit are available for all believers, that's right, for all believers. So, it's not for a chosen few but it's for all who believe in the Lord Jesus and it's for all who have received Him as Lord and savior. And so, the Holy Spirit comes and indwells the believer and these gifts are for all believers. There are reasons why we state this, let's look at a few of them, 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and verse 7 says, "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all." Notice the word, "It's given to each one." The manifestation of the Holy Spirit. We studied earlier that the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, which means the expression of the Holy Spirit, is another name for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And so, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, is given to each one, referring to all believers, for the profit of all. 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and verse 11 says this, "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." Who distributes the Holy Spirit and how does He distribute? He distributes to each one individually as He wills. Another verse, 1 Corinthians chapter 12 and verse 31 says, "But earnestly desire the best gifts and yet I show you a more excellent way." This instruction obviously is for all believers and the instruction is this, "Earnestly desire the best gifts." Which means that all believers are to pursue and desire the best gifts. If you notice, the word used there is ‘gifts’, plural and not singular, meaning, there is no restriction on the number of gifts and it is for all believers. One more verse, 1 Corinthians chapter 14 and verse 1 says, "Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy." So, all believers are encouraged to do this. How many are encouraged to pursue love? All of us as believers, we are to pursue the love of God, we are to pursue the character of God and Christ-likeness and so it says here, "Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts." And lastly, towards the end of that whole sermon on gifts, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians chapter 14 and verse 39 says, "Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy and do not forbid to speak with tongues." So, at least two gifts are mentioned here, prophecy and praying speaking in tongues. And so, we infer that all gifts are for all believers. Paul's instruction is that all believers should not be ignorant. All believers should pursue, earnestly desire the gifts of the Holy Spirit and why should all believers desire and walk in the gifts? Because God desires, it is the Lord Himself who desires to manifest Himself, His character, and His power through the believers. Now, if you recall, the Lord Jesus commissioned the disciples and He sent them out and He said, "Go, preach the gospel to every creature, you know, teaching them to observe all the things that I have taught you." And so, that applies for each one of us. Even as we go out into our world, into our life situations, be it at home or campus or office, we are to manifest the gifts of the Spirit and thereby bring an encounter of the living God to everyone around us. And so, even as we share the word of God, we are to display or express the power and the presence of God to all people. Today, as we pray, we can desire that and say, "Yes, Lord, I am not excluded from this, I am also included in this great commission, I'm also included in expressing or manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit. So, use me, Lord." Will you pray that? Let's pray, Father, we thank you that you have included each one of us, that none of us are excluded in this, that you desire to express, you desire to manifest, your power and your nature and your character through each one of us. We thank you, Lord, and we invite you to have your way, come, Lord, more of you in us, more of you through us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
