Thank you so much for being with us throughout this week, where we took time to reflect on the tabernacle of Moses and draw insights into hat they mean to us as believers. As we wrap this up, I want to just bring our attention tot eh fact that Chrost Himself is the true tabernacle and the New Testament talks about Jesus, it says that the word became flesh and dwelt among us and the Greek there is, ‘He tabernacled among us’. So, Jesus is the fulfillment of the tabernacle, of Go dwelling among mean and the book of Hebrews is telling us that as we worship God, we come to God and offer up spiritual sacrifices. Obviously, we are not doing the literal sacrifices that they did in the Old Testament in the tabernacle of Moses but all of that has spiritual meaning to us. as we look at the New Testament, we see that it calls is to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. The New Testament calls us to wash ourselves with the blood of Jesus, with the word of God and the Holy spirit who cleanses our inner being. The New Testament tells us to receive the illumination of the Holy Spirit- the lampstand, participate in the word of God which is that eternal bread in communion with Jesus. The New Testament teaches us to offer up worship and sacrifice our prayers which go up as incense before God and the New Testament invites us to come into the holiest through the blood of Jesus to be there in the very presence of God, around His covenant and around the atonement that is Christ Himself. So, all of this bears much meaning to us as we engage in worship, in spirit and in truth. I want to encourage you that as you go before God, carry these things as you engage in worship t God. we participate in the spiritual, we offer up spiritual sacrifices as the book of Hebrews says, we offer up the sacrifice of praise, we offer up our incense and worship to God and these are spiritual things we do, empowered by the Holy Spirit. So, let us try to maintain these things because what was given in the Old Testament, you and I are enjoying the heavenly, the spiritual, the real as we worship God in spirit and in truth.
Let us pray, Father, we ask that as we come before you day after day, moment by moment in our worship, in offering up our sacrifices, in coming before your throne boldly that we would draw upon these insights given to us in the Old testament of how we come before you, how we access your presence, how we engage in spiritual worship so that truly our fellowship with you can deepen, can have so much more meaning and we can draw even more close to you, we thank you father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
