Greetings and thank you for this opportunity yet again to come to you today, spend a few moments in prayer and the word of God. This week, we are talking about declaring the word, the importance of us saying what God has said, what the bible says about us. In Ephesians chapter 6, verse 17, the apostle Paul teaches us that as we are engaging in conflict with principalities, powers and spiritual forces of darkness, he says, ‘take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.’ As believers, we have to actively, intentionally use the sword of the Holy Spirit and what is it? It is the word of God. What must I do with the word? I must speak His word. We see in the book of Revelation that the sword of the word comes forth out of the mouth of the Lord Jesus, it comes out of His mouth and we see that exemplified for us in the Lord Jesus and we just practice the same thing. The sword of the word of God comes forth out of our mouth when we speak the word, we are actually releasing or using the sword of the Spirit, that means the Holy Spirit goes into operation now, it is His sword, but I’m using it by speaking the word of God. The Holy Spirit is the one who is going to take that word effective in our life. So, imagine what a weapon we have, when you declare the word, you are releasing the sword of the Spirit against the enemy. When you find the enemy come against you to rob your peace, joy, cause fear and anxiety or try to affect your body, mind, circumstances, situations, family etc., you see the enemy trying to do this, take out your sword, speak and declare the word, it is the sword of the Spirit against the enemy. The enemy will retreat, he can’t stand against that sword, that double-edged, powerful sword will never return to God empty. So, speak the word. Use your sword, your God given sword against the enemy. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the power of your word and the sword, it is the sword of the Spirit, that as we speak the word, it is a powerful weapon going against the enemy, a double-edged sword that will cause the enemy to retreat and cause us to walk in victory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
