Thanks for tuning in and welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotional of All People's church. We hope you're having a good day and we just hope that this will be a great time of refreshing and renewal for you. We're going to be meditating on the some of the questions that the Lord Jesus asked His disciples and especially one pertinent question that He asked Peter and we find this in Matthew chapter 16, verses 15 to 17, ‘He said to them, “but who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Verse 17, ‘Jesus answered and said to him, “blessed are you, Simon Bar- Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Father who is in heaven.’ So, they've been having this conversation and the Lord's asking the disciples, who do people say that I am and there are various responses but then He's asking who do you say that I am? And then Peter answers and the Lord says this is a revelation that you received from the Father and the Lord delights in us receiving a revelation about Himself and I believe that God is asking that question today, who do you say that I am? When we receive a revelation or a facet of who God is, that changes us because we can experience Him and that revelation directly in our lives. It builds us up, increases our faith and so on. So, we're going to look at one such revelation that we see about God and we see this in Deuteronomy chapter 32 and verse 4 says, ‘He is the rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.’ He is the rock which means He is strong, He is sure, He is steadfast, He is perfect, He is truth itself, He is righteous and He is upright. So, He is the Rock and that's the revelation that we see about who God is. He is strong, He's upright. Psalm chapter 18 and verse2, the psalmist says ‘the Lord is my rock and my Fortress and my deliverer, my God, my strength in whom I will trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my strong hold. The Rock was not just something strong, something upright and steadfast it represented something upright and steadfast but the rock also meant that it was a place of shelter, a place where there could be shade from the scorching sun. It was also a place of safety, a place of protection from maybe the enemy or maybe someone attacking, maybe some wild animal, a place of protection. So, we're looking at something like that and also a secure standing. So, the psalmist is saying the Lord is my rock. So today, if He would ask you the same question, the Lord wants to reveal and say that I am your rock, I am your sure foundation, I am your protection, I am your shade at the right hand and I am your firm footing. So, maybe even as we pray, let's just receive that revelation and say God, thank you for being this in my life. Let's pray, Father, we thank you that you are our Rock, our sure foundation, our firm footing. Lord, we thank you that you are our protection, that you are upright and righteous at all times and we thank you for revealing this to us. Lord, we pray in all these places where things are shaky, where things don't seem to be right, Lord we pray that you be that rock Lord in our lives, Lord you Be that Rock, you be that Rock of Ages, we thank you in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
