Greetings and thank you for giving us the opportunity to come to you today and spend a few moments with you in God’s word. We are meditating on the word of the Lord for 2024- conquer through faith. I want to emphasize this aspect from Hebrews chapter 11, verse 30, it says, ‘By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.’ Jericho was a city that God said, I have given you this city, that means even before the people got there and engaged in any sense, God said, I’ve given it for you, go possess it, it is part of the land that I want you to take. For us today, Jericho represents God says is for your life, it is promise I have given you either in the written scriptures or a personal thing God wants you to do in your personal life but there is a problem, Jericho is fortified, it has got these huge walls, it seems impossible to get in and penetrate those walls but God says, look let’s do it by faith. I will give you a strategy, there is nothing implicitly great in that strategy, no military command that would even come up with this kind of a strategy. So, the strategy is not about whether we can penetrate the walls but us demonstrating faith in God and being obedient. God says, you walk around the walls for seven days. The nice thing is God’s people didn’t question Him and discuss with Him to come up with a better strategy. They said, He has given us the city, we got to go take it and we will follow His instructions. Have faith, live in obedience and the walls will come down. Through faith, they conquered Jericho. What is your Jericho that you are looking at and saying, I need to take that. Do it by faith, conquer through faith. What does that mean? It means you obey God and act out of faith in God and say, God, I’m doing this because I’m trusting you and because you told me to do this and I’m trusting you. The strategy itself may not be great and may not have all the answers, don’t worry, you are doing it by faith. You are going to conquer your Jericho by faith. Listen to God, follow His instruction and walk by faith, you will conquer your Jericho’s. May 2024, see you enter into many of the Jericho’s God wants you to have. Let’s pray, Father, we ask that you will help us hear your strategy, follow through, walk by faith and conquer through faith, conquer our Jericho’s, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
