Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings! and thank you once again for the opportunity to journey with you through this week, day after day, spending some time in the word of God and in prayer. This week, we've been looking at different instructions in the word of God and how you and I can live free from worry. I trust that you've been able to take these little nuggets from the word of God, apply it in your life, make it practical in your life, practice it, so that you and I, we can live free from worry. Of course, in this world, there are so many things that can be tumultuous, sometimes these things that happen, events and news can be really upsetting, disturbing, but we are learning that it is possible to live worry free because God has spoken to us in His scriptures and taught us. I want to bring our attention to one more truth in the scriptures before we close this week off. It is learning to keep our mind still; I'll just make a reference to two passages. First is in Psalms chapter four versus four and eight the psalmist says ‘be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed and be still. Selah. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.’ And then in Psalm chapter 46 verse 10, the psalmist says, ‘be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!’ With all the things that happen around us, it can be very disturbing, very upsetting as I mentioned. What do we do? In the fourth Psalm, it is very interesting because the psalmist in the Psalm, he's talking about different things that could be disturbing him, but he's making reference about sleep. As we began this week, we said, when people are worried, anxious, disturbed, they find it difficult to sleep through the night. It's very interesting that in this psalm in two places, the psalmist is talking about sleep, and he says, you can be agitated about things but don't sin. He says, what must we do? Meditate in your heart and be still, meditate in your heart and be still. So, while there are all these things that can cause a person to be agitated, what should you and I do? We meditate, we ponder on the things of God, we ponder on the word of God, we ponder on who God is, we put our mind on the Lord. And as we meditate in our heart inside us, we can come to a place where we still our soul because our mind can work faster than a computer, just keep going over and over about certain things, things that disturb us and our mind can be so agitated, so disturbed by things. So, what does he say? You meditate in your heart, you choose to quieten down, meditate, focus on the things of God and still your soul. And he says, that's how you can sleep well, I will lie down in peace and sleep because you Lord are causing me to dwell in safety. You will take care of this or like we saw in another place be still and know; to know means you're coming to that place, you are recognizing who God is, that He is God above everything. Be still and know, still your soul, by knowing, by meditating on who God is in every situation. Let us do this today, when there are all kinds of things disturbing us, let us still our soul by putting our mind on who God is. Let's pray, Lord, we ask you that you will help us still our soul, meditate on you and that every anxious thought leave, help us to live worry free, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
