Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Welcome friends, we've been studying about the Holy Spirit, and we've seen the fact that He is the Spirit of the Lord, He is also the Spirit of wisdom. Today, we will look at Him being the Spirit of understanding. The Spirit of understanding breaks things down for us, so that we can apply those things in our lives, or we can reach out to others with solutions. Some scriptures for us to look at, first Corinthians chapter two versus nine and 10 it says, ‘but as it is written: “eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.’ Here's a beautiful truth for us that though there are mysterious things in the spiritual realm, though there are mysterious things in this natural world that we are unable to crack, by the Holy Spirit, God is able to bring revelation, in other words, He's able to bring understanding. This very passage talks about the things that are prepared for us, God's purpose for our lives, the places where God wants us to go, the things that God wants us to engage in, the accomplishments that God wants through our lives, the way God wants to be glorified through your and my adoration and commitment to Him. The Holy Spirit is able to bring revelation to our hearts, bring understanding to our hearts and we can follow after those things and live out the kind of life that God wants us to live for Him. A little more about understanding, in verse 13 of the same passage, we read, ‘these things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.’ The understanding that the Holy Spirit can bring us, helps us compare, in this verse we see compare spiritual things with spiritual. There are things that we cannot grasp through our natural mind, but through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to compare spiritual things with spiritual things and keep being built up, go from strength to strength and glory to glory in God because He is increasing our understanding of spiritual matters. The understanding that the Holy Spirit brings us need not only be of spiritual things, but in our everyday lives, as we go about doing all that God has called us to do, our careers, going after the studies that we are engaged in, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of understanding and we can depend on Him to help us know His purposes better, to know the world that we live in better and God can give us that grace that we move forward with His revelation and His understanding. So, we don't have to be a people of ignorance, we don't have to be a people without knowledge, we can depend on the Holy Spirit. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for empowering us with understanding. Enable us to build things in our life through the understanding that you give us. We commit ourselves into your hands, those of us who are struggling today in our circumstances, I pray that you will bring the understanding we need. We give you thanks for doing it, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
