Welcome back everyone! It is such a joy once again to meditate on God’s word with you. Let’s begin by reading a scripture, we will read from Psalm chapter 143, verse 8, ‘Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.’ The psalmist is crying out to God and asking him to lead his way and to guide him along the path. This is a prayer that is coming out of his heart and I am sure it is a prayer that each one of us prays because we want to be led by God, we want to stay on track and not be distracted in the purpose that God has for us. Today, I just want to encourage all of us to hold on to the dream, vision and call and do not turn to the right or left. Intentionally, become stronger in what God has called us to do and that is so very necessary for us to journey through till the finish line. The journey will of course not be smooth, we may encounter some challenges along the way but when we are strong, we can make it and not in our own strength but in the strength of God. As we carry the work or the dream that God has put in our hearts, we could encounter several challenges. We look at Samson; though the call of God was genuine on his life, he was careless about it and unfortunately, he didn’t do everything that God had in store for him. We look at Abraham; though Isaac was born as per the promise, he did go through phases, we do not know what exactly eh was going through, maybe discouragement or sense of doubt, but there were times when he lied about Sarah being his sister and he also was okay with Sarah’ idea regarding Hagar. When we consider apostle Paul; his journey was not smooth. We know that he had a great focus and he wanted to serve God with great passion. As he travelled through different cities, he encountered opposition to the point where he had to leave those cities and move on to other cities. We see that the children of Israel were distracted and they were filled with doubt and disobedience and at some points, we also see them worshipping other gods. These are all ways in which they were led astray from what God wanted to do in their lives. When we consider Elijah, there was a time when fear gripped him, he ran away for his life and was at the lowest point of his life. You see people of God going through adverse circumstances and situations. As we stated earlier, the important thing is for us to stay in God and stay strong in Him and that is the way in which we will overcome. Let’s quickly read another verse which is a prayer to be on the right track. Proverbs chapter 4, verses 25 and 27, ‘Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.’ May we carry the focus as mentioned in this verse and may we continue to seek the Lord and serve Him.
Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are with us in whatever it is that we are going through right now. We know that you are an Almighty God and your power is greater than any difficulty or challenge we are going through. We pray in the name of Jesus, that you will strengthen us to stay on the right path and to journey with you in faith and patience. We commit ourselves into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
