Hi everyone, we are talking about releasing the purpose of God through our lives. Today, we will talk about something very important in our journey of seeing God’s promises, vision or dreams for us fulfilled and that is prayer. I’m sure all of us agree that prayer plays a huge part in strengthening us and experiencing the power of God in what we are called to do. When it comes to the vision that God has for us or the things God wants us to do, many times we approach them as mysteries where we feel that it is impossible to know what God wants us to do. But the scriptures tell us that God is very interested in letting is know what He wants us to do. When we read 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verses 9 and 10, especially in verse 10 we notice that the Spirit of God searches all things, the deep things of God and through Him, God reveals to us what He wants us to do. Here is one truth that God doesn’t want to keep us in the dark, but He wants to reveals His purpose to us. How can this purpose be known? Through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will reveal the things that God is thinking towards us, the things God wants us to do for His kingdom. This is how we know more about what the purpose of God for us is. The second thing is that God has given us a very beautiful gift, the gift of the Holy Spirit which is known as praying in tongues. When we pray in tongues, 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 2 tells us that we pray mysteries to God. Nothing is a mystery to God so the mystery is to us. When we pray in the Spirit, we are praying things beyond our human understanding. There are many things that the Holy Spirit helps us pray; we can understand by the Spirit maybe sometime later in our lives or right after the prayer time but it is a way of tapping in to what God wants to reveal to us. So, prayer is very crucial. We know Ephesians chapter 2, verse 10 tells us that we have been created for good works in Christ Jesus which God has prepared for us. So, through prayer we can understand what it is that God wants us to do. It is true that many times our will is not aligned to what God wants us to do, however, when we pray, we can align our will to God. We see this happen in Mathew chapter 26, when Jesus is praying in the garden of Gethsemane. Initially He says, take this cup away from me but as He is praying, He comes to a place where He says, ‘not my will, but yours be done.’ This is the third point that we wanted to share that payer can help us align our will to God’s will and in this way, we can move forward with God and accomplish whatever God wants us to do. Let’s take some time and pray right now together, Heavenly Father, we pray for a spirit of intercession in each one of us. Help us to be people of prayer. We thank you that prayer is such a powerful thing that you want us to. As your people, help us to stay in prayer and even as we do that, we know that you will reveal the secrets of your heart to us. We commit ourselves into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
