Hi everyone, welcome back! Let’s continue to meditate on releasing the work of God through our lives. Let’s begin by reading a scripture, this is from Galatians chapter 6, verse 9, it says, ‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.’ We talked about conceiving the work of God and not just going by our own natural ideas. The first step to release God’s work is to conceive of the Spirit and not do things with our flesh. And yet, if we have conceived something from God, the next important thing for us to understand is that it is going to take perseverance in order to do that work, accomplish it and release it at the appointed time. We may assume that because something is of God, the journey will be easy but that is not true. We see that we need to go through a preparation. Sometimes, there could be a delay in the fulfilment of what God has promised us ahead of time. We see this in the life of David. He was anointed very young in his teens and yet, God allowed him to go through various experiences till he came to a place in his life where he was more mature, prepared and had a better understanding to lead God’s people. So, there was a delay in the case of David. Now, we notice that sometimes we can encounter adversities, things that stop us or hinder us from fulfilling the purpose of God for our lives. We maybe very passionate about God’s work but we may find that the people/ environment around us is not very supportive. In the case of Mary, we see that she conceived of the Holy Spirit and yet she would have been despised, gone through embarrassment because of culture and society. We see in the case of Moses, he was misunderstood by his own people. Though he was a Jew, we notice that his own people didn’t trust him and he was very disappointed and led him to run into the wilderness. When we consider Jospeh, he had a genuine dream from the Lord and when he shard that dream with his brothers, they weren’t willing to listen to him; they in fact got angry and sold him. We see in these instances that though these people carried a word from God, a dream from God, a purpose from God which was genuinely conceived from God, they found that it was not always easy. There were times where they would have been discouraged and yet they had to hold on to the promise till the appointed time so that they would be strong enough to release it according to God’s purpose. I just want to encourage each of us to be strong if what we have conceived from the Lord is genuine, then surely the Lord will strengthen us and God is looking at us to persevere through this journey. Stay strong! Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are a God who walks with us in this journey of fulfilling what you have called us to do. We thank you that we are not alone, that we are empowered by the Holy Spirit and that you go before us. We praise you and honor you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
