Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings! The bible tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding, in all our ways acknowledge Him, He will direct our paths. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to come your way and spend a few moments with you in the word of God and in prayer. We're talking about living worry free and some practical things you and I can do to keep our minds free from worry, stress, tension, and anxiety. We have discussed several different things this week and I want to just bring our attention to one more instruction in the word of God. In Philippians chapter four, verses six and seven, which we have seen earlier this week, where the apostle Paul tells us, he says, ‘don't be anxious for anything, but in everything, with prayer, with supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God which passes all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Jesus Christ.’ Then he continues in the next verse, which is Philippians chapter four and verse eight, he tells us, ‘Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things.’ He says, now, after you've done your praying and you've welcomed the peace of God, you've got to continue doing something, he says, meditate, which is simply occupy your mind with good things. So, here's another secret to be free from anxiety, to be free from worry and tension and stress, that is after we've prayed and unburdened in prayer and received His peace, we choose to resist those thoughts that cause worry, tension and stress and instead meditate or let the right kind of thoughts occupy our minds. Just thoughts like things that are noble, things that are virtuous, things that are of good report, that are lovely, that are just, that are praiseworthy, good things, good thoughts, let them occupy your mind. So, for some of us this may come easily but for some of us, we may have to work at it, you may need to intentionally reject negative thoughts, reject anxious thoughts, reject those thoughts that cause you worry. Usually, thoughts like well this may not work out, well what if this happens? Well, you know something bad is going to happen, you know this dangerous thing will happen, those kinds of thoughts, they just come into your mind. Sometimes it could be things that people have said, could be news that you've heard, things that keep coming, so, you reject them and instead occupy your mind with good things, with positive things and one good way to do it is to occupy your mind with the word of God. So, then you and I, are actively resisting anxious thoughts and we are meditating, occupying our minds with good thoughts, noble, lovely, virtuous, praiseworthy thoughts and that will make sure that the peace that God has given to us, guards us, keeps us as we go through the day. So, practice it today, reject anxious thoughts and meditate on good things. Let's pray, help us, O Lord, we pray, to meditate, to occupy our mind with your word, things that are positive, true, virtuous so we can reject anxious thoughts, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
