Receiving God's Guidance - Guided by Our Renewed Mind (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone, welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotionals by All Peoples church, where we spend a few minutes in God's word to build our faith up and to live a life that is fruitful for His kingdom. This week, we've been looking at the theme receiving God's guidance and looking through scripture on how God guides every step of our way and in this video, we want to just focus on how God guides our renewed mind. Romans chapter 12, verse 2, ‘Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God.’ So, if you were to ask a question, how do we discover the perfect will of God? It is through the renewed mind. Romans chapter 12, verse 2 reminds us that each one of us should have our minds renewed to understand, to prove, to judge the perfect will of God. Our thoughts are very powerful; it shapes us. Proverbs chapter 23 verse 7, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." Our thoughts shape a lot of our life. If your thought life is full of fear, doubt, and comparison, we shouldn't be surprised by the decisions we make because our thoughts determine our actions and our words. So, how do we renew our mind? Just some practical steps for each one of us. First, we feed our mind with scripture. Instead of endlessly scrolling on our phones or wasting our times, we want to intentionally spend time to feed our minds, feed our thoughts with God's word. The more we spend time in God's word, the more our thoughts and our minds are filled with His thoughts, with His ways, which are far greater than our earthly thoughts and our earthly ways. We take every thought captive; when it doesn't line up with what God says or it is contrary to what God says or whenever minds are filled with fear and anxiety, we take that thought captive and we submit it to Christ. Lastly, we choose to meditate on the things of God because what gets most repetition in your mind eventually becomes the lens through which we see everything. We really need to have the mind of Christ. Our thoughts, where we can think like Him. His ways are far above our ways; His thoughts are far above our thoughts. And so, if you're in a season of confusion or you're looking for clarity or if you are looking for a solution, put on the mind of Christ. This mind thinks like God. His thoughts are way higher than our thoughts and our ways. And so, we can understand the will of God. He guides us through our renewed mind, which is our thoughts and our mind. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you for this reminder that each one of us have the mind of Christ, the mind that is renewed, this is a mind that thinks like you, that thinks according to your word, that is inspired by the Holy Spirit. And I pray, Lord, for each one of us every day to put on the mind of Christ. For your thoughts, your ways are far above our earthly thoughts and our earthly ways. And so, Lord, every step of the way, we pray for our thoughts. We pray Lord that you will fill our minds with your word. You will fill our minds with heavenly thoughts. And Lord, I pray that you will lead us in every single step we take through our thoughts and through our minds, in Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
