Receiving God's Guidance - The God Who Reveals His Plan (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotions of All People's church, where we spend a few minutes in God's word to reflect, to build our faith up, and to remind us to live a life that is fruitful for God's kingdom. This week, we've been looking at the theme receiving God's guidance and looking at scripture to understand how God guides us every step of the way. Our life is not random, but each one of us have a plan, have a purpose, and God leads us into that. Today, I just want to remind us God reveals His plan, His purpose to us. He not only gives us a plan, He not only gives us His purpose, but He also reveals that to us. In Ephesians chapter 5 and verse 17, it says, "Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is." Colossians chapter 1, verse 19 says, "For this reason, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding." In Ephesians chapter 5, verse 17, the apostle Paul says that we need to understand the will of the Lord, which means God's plan, God's purpose can be understood, it can be comprehended. In Colossians chapter 1, verse 9, Paul is praying for us, for believers, and he says that each one of us will be filled, not a little, but to be filled with the knowledge of what God desires for each one of us. Maybe you're facing a decision even right now as you're watching this video or you're maneuvering through a relationship, you need direction for your future, a choice that you need to make in your work, where each one of us maybe need to invest our time, we can be confident in this that we can trust God to reveal His plan, reveal His purpose, not just in the big things, but also in the little things. The God who knows our plans is not hiding it from us, but He's the one who reveals. It can be understood, it can be comprehended and each one of us as we live this life of faith, we need to be filled with the knowledge of His will. The apostle Paul in Acts chapter 9, after his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, he looks at Jesus and in verse 6, he says, "Lord, what do you want me to do for you?" This is a heart cry, a desire and a posture where every day we wake up, for those of us who put our faith in Jesus, we ask God to reveal His plan, reveal His purpose. May this be our posture, our prayer every day where we ask God to reveal what His will is, what His desire is and we can understand and comprehend it and we can be filled with the knowledge of His will and of His purpose. I Just want to remind you that you are not here by accident. You can understand, you can think, you can comprehend what God has for you on this earth and you can be filled with the knowledge of His will. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you for this truth. We thank you that you are the God who reveals your plan and your purpose that we can understand it, we can comprehend it in our minds' eye. And Lord, I pray that each one of us will be filled with the knowledge, that our minds and our hearts will truly understand what God's plan and what God's purpose is, so that we may be effective vessels and witnesses for you, for your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Lord, we thank you for this reminder and this truth, in Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.
