Receiving God's Guidance - Guided by the Holy Spirit (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotionals by All People's church, where we take a few minutes to spend time in God's word to build our faith up and to remind ourselves to be fruitful for God's kingdom. This week, we've been looking at the theme receiving God's guidance and looking through scriptures at how God guides us every step of the way. Today, I just want to emphasize that God guides us by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verses 9 and 10, ‘but as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear has heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him. But God has revealed them through His spirit. For the spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." Think about this, in this passage, what we have not seen, what we have not heard, what we have not imagined in our hearts and in our minds, but God has revealed them to us. How does He reveal them? Verse 10, He reveals them through His Holy Spirit. For those of us who put our faith in Jesus, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Each one of us are filled with the Holy Spirit inside of us and so, we remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit leads and guides us every step of the way. In John chapters 14 and 15, Jesus talks about the Holy Spirit, where each one of us, by the Holy Spirit, He will be our guide, He will be our teacher. He is the spirit of truth; He is the spirit of wisdom and revelation. He brings clarity. So, whether you're in a moment of confusion or in a season where you need clarity, you can cry out to the Holy Spirit. He will be your guide; He will be your teacher every single step of the way. We know that Jesus in His earthly ministry was anointed by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a dove. In Acts, Peter said about Jesus, how Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit and power and He went about doing good, healing all who were sick. If we want to have a powerful ministry, if we want to pursue and fulfill God's purpose, God's plan, we need the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has promised the Holy Spirit to fall upon all flesh, that is you and me and so, we need the Holy Spirit to lead us and to guide us. So, I just want to encourage us that as we pray to invite the work of the Holy Spirit in every area of our life, whether it's personal, whether it's our work, whether it's ministry, the Holy Spirit can be our teacher, can be our guide every step of the way. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you for this time. Thank you, Lord, for this reminder that you have sent your Holy Spirit inside each one of us and that truly we are the temple of the living God, that the Holy Spirit resides inside each one of us. And so, Lord, we just ask for a fresh outpouring of your wisdom, your revelation. We especially want to pray for those of us who seem a bit confused or are in a season of darkness, we just pray, Holy Spirit, that you will lead, you will guide each one of us, you will bring clarity. Especially for those of us who are facing problems, who need solutions, we just pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to lead and to guide us every step of the way. We thank you, Lord Jesus, in Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.
