Receiving God's Guidance - Guided by God’s Counsel & Wisdom (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone and welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotionals by All People's church where we spend a few moments in God's word to build our faith up and to live a life that is fruitful for God's kingdom. This week, we've been looking at the theme receiving God's guidance and looking through scriptures to remind us that God guides us every step of our life. Today, I just want to emphasize that God guides us by godly counsel and wisdom. Proverbs chapter 11 and verse 14, it says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall. But in the multitude of counselors, there is safety." Where there is no godly counsel, the proverb says that we fall, we trip, we lose control or we are lost, but in the multitude of counselors, there is safety. What is godly counsel? It's not just opinion or advice. Godly counsel comes from someone with real, tested relationship with God, they've lived through life, someone who knows the word and actually has walked through life with God and that wisdom is made available to us. God guides through people around us. Our faith is not meant to be lived alone, but we are placed in community and in community, we can go to a trusted friend, a mentor, a pastor, especially in moments where we need clarity or we just need guidance, we need counsel. God has placed people around us and God guides us through people. He places wisdom upon people and so we can access that wisdom in people in people around us. So, I just want to encourage us that if you are part of a community, you can go to a trusted friend, a mentor, a pastor to go and have a conversation with them, draw wisdom from them so that you can receive God's counsel, God's wisdom for your life. And so, we don't need to live this life alone, we don't need to live this life confused, we don't need to live this life in darkness always; we can look for people, draw wisdom out of them, and get godly counsel for the season that you are in. So, I just want to encourage us that God can guide us every step of the way through people around us and we can tap in to God's wisdom through people around us. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you for this reminder and for this truth that you have placed counselors around us, people with wisdom, people with experience and I pray that we will tap into that wisdom and I pray that as we have conversations with people, that you will bring your wisdom, you will bring your insight, you will bring your counsel to each one of us every step of the way. And Lord, we pray ultimately that through that wisdom, we will glorify you, we will be guided every step and your plans, your purposes will be revealed through them, in Jesus' mighty name we pray, Amen.
