Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Purpose (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello friends, welcome back. We are talking about standing firm in God and I want to talk about something which is very key to keep us on track. There are certain seasons in life which can derail us, there are seasons that can demotivate us, discourage us because the pressure form outside is so great that we may think that we can’t stand under that pressure, but it is during these times, that knowing our purpose and staying anchored in our purpose will really help us. The enemy would want us to give up, on pursuing the purpose/ assignment of God for our lives, he is ready to convince us that we won’t be able to make it, or that we will make it below standard. That’s not what God’s word says, His word calls us to the purposes of God, and it also reveals to us that God continues to empower us, and He has given us His Holy Spirit to walk with us every day, moment by moment in life’s journey to keep us on track and to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

Be anchored in God’s purpose for you. There is a scripture in Philippians chapter 3 and verse 12 where Paul writes, ‘Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.’ Paul seems to have understood that there is a purpose for which God had called him or God had laid hold of him. He has committed his life to that purpose, and we know that Paul in his journey went through many ups and downs, but then that purpose kept him on track. Similarly, as we are going through life, it is good to ask questions like, ‘what is the life vision that I carry?’ ‘What is it that I am living for?’ ‘What is it that God wants out of my life, what does God wants me to accomplish through my life?’ You broadly call that life vision, what is that life vision? As I begin to pray and understand God’s life vision for me, it keeps me anchored in the purpose of God for my life, even if I go through some rough seasons, I don’t give up and I keep moving towards that life vision. We ask the question, ‘what are the gifts that God has given me?’ Because these gifts will also point us towards the life vision that God has for us and that again will keep us anchored in the purpose of God for our lives.

We can also ask the question, ‘what is God’s grace on my life or what is God’s empowering?’ Some of us are able to do certain things a lot easier than others, that indicates to us that there is something there that God has specially for us and that we can pursue that particular grace upon our lives and see so much more done for the kingdom of God through that; so, pursue that grace and that will keep you anchored in the purpose. Ask questions like, ‘what are the assignments that God has for me?’ ‘What is the direction in which God is leading me in?’ All of these questions will begin to point us towards that accomplishment that God wants through each of our lives. Stay anchored in it, there will be some difficult seasons but that doesn’t mean we must quit, we just have to rise up; a righteous man may fall seven times, but he always rises up. So, just rise up, get back on track, and keep pursuing God’s purpose that will keep you firm in God.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you call each of us with a purpose and I pray that you will stir up our hearts, if there are people who are discouraged through life’s happenings, I pray Holy Spirit, that you will stir them up once again and cause them to be anchored in the purpose of God for their lives. Renew and reconnect them to the voice of the Holy Spirit, thank you for doing it and strengthen each of us to fulfill our purpose in the kingdom, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
