Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you so much for the opportunity to come to you today and spend these few moments with you in the word of God. This week, we are learning on how to test personal prophecy and prophetic words. Yesterday, we laid out the first test which is, is it in line to the written word of God? Today, we learn another test which is, does the personal prophecy move me toward God? What is the prophecy moving me towards? Is it moving me toward God, is it drawing me towards the person who gave me the prophecy? Is it pushing me away from God or is it pushing me toward something that is not of God, that is the test In the Old Testament in Deuteronomy chapter 13, verses 1, 2 and 3, when the Lord was instructing His people about the prophets, He said, ‘Look, if there is a prophet or a dreamer of dreams and he gives you a sign and a wonder and even if the sign and wonder comes to pass but if he is telling you, let us go after other gods which you have not known, to serve them then do not listen to the words of the prophet. So, the truth as a prophecy is not whether the prophecy comes to pass or not, the first test is, is the prophet and the prophetic word moving you toward God or to some other gods, that is the primary test. Then of course, every true word from God will come to pass if the conditions are met. So, that is the first test, is the prophetic word moving you to God or towards the so-called prophet himself/ herself or to other gods to serve. You’ve got to be very careful. Ask yourself this question. When you receive a personal prophecy, what is the prophecy doing to me? Is it causing me to love Jesus more, wanting me to seek Jesus more or is it pushing me away from the Lord, is it distracting me away from the Lord into something else that is taking the place of God, so that is the second test. You examine whether that word and the person who gave it to you, are they moving you toward God, that is the second test you place on personal prophecy, the word and the person who gave it to you, are they moving you toward God? Let’s pray, Father, we pray and ask you give us wisdom and discernment to test prophecy and to receive and hold on to what is good, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
