Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Priority (Daily Devotional)

Welcome everyone, we are talking about being intimate with God. We saw how God has designed us for intimacy, for a deeper relationship with Him. We have also seen that we can desire a deeper walk with God but if we don’t make that choice, it is possible for us to live at the surface level sort of a relationship with Him and miss out on knowing the heart of God. Today, we are talking about prioritizing God and a wonderful person to learn this from is king David. We see that many of his psalms pointed towards the importance that God had in his life. In Psalm chapter 27, verse 4, he even says, ‘One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.’ Though king David could have enjoyed and valued many things in his life, there is one thing that he is talking about. It shows us that David prioritized knowing God and being with God much higher, the value that he placed on this was greater than the value that he placed on anything else. It also shows us that David was satisfied in God’s presence and prioritized His presence. Sometimes, the things of the world can be so attractive for us that we are pulled towards the worldly things, but you see the heart of David here, he is satisfied by God and he says, one thing he desires of God and that is to be in His presence. God satisfied David; His presence satisfied David. We also see here that he talks about a deep desire in him to continue to behold the beauty of the Lord and that is nothing but gaining greater revelation of who God is and continuously discovering who God is. These are the things that satisfied him and that is really something for us to learn from. Let’s look at another passage, another psalm that David wrote in Psalm chapter 63, verses 1 and 2, here David says, ‘O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So, I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.’ Once again David is talking about the way in which he prioritized God. He sought God early and it also says with his soul he is thirsting after God, even with his flesh; think about this, coming to a place where even our flesh is missing the presence of God, is missing being with God and finding that satisfaction. So, he is desiring God in a very deep way and not just the presence of God but also His power and glory. This kind of delight is what we want in our relationship with God. Let’s pray and ask the Lord to lead us in intimacy with Him. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, even as we see pictures of closeness with you, we pray that we will experience similar intimacy and even deeper than that. Awaken that hunger and awaken that thirst in our lives, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
