Greetings and thank you for journeying with us this entire week as we’ve been looking at a few biblical insights to overcoming depression. Like we said in the very beginning, we apply these principles in our lives, we practice them everyday on an ongoing basis and for some of us, we may need to get additional help from a therapist or a professional psychologist, counselor and we encourage you to do that, please do that, there is nothing wrong with that and continue to applying these biblical principles and insights and God will bring you to a time when you can wean yourself off receiving the help of a professional and you can keep walking with the word of God. The last and very simple insight that I want to share with is from the bible is that we need to surround ourselves with positive people. Surround yourself with people who will strengthen you, who will lift you up and not put you down. There is no point in having people who are going to make you feel worse about yourself, your circumstance, feel worse about everything in life, there is no point in that. You need people who are going to lift you up, who are going to be positive, encouraging, supportive and strengthen you emotionally. So, you need to surround yourself with them. The psalmist said in Psalm chapter 122, verse 1, he said, ‘I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord.’ That means he had some people around him who said, let’s go to the house of the Lord, they made him glad, gave him some good advice, they encouraged him, lifted him up and that is the kind of people we need. People who will help us do the right things and who will make us glad. If we are feeling sad and down, you need people around you who will lift you up, make you glad and push you to do the right things, that is just an example. So, surround yourself with positive people, at least one or two, stay around people who will lift you up and encourage you in your journey of faith. Let’s pray, Father, this week, we’ve journeyed through your truth, insights on how to overcome depression and I pray for people who maybe batting depression, feelings of hopelessness and despair. Lord, by the power of your word and anointing, may they be complexly free, live totally free from any and every feeling of depression. May the joy of the Lord fill their soul and overflow in their life. May they be full of joy, may they be joyful, cause that to happen, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
