Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Persistent (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you for another beautiful day, time to spend in the word of God and prayer together. We need to remind ourselves every day, this is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. No matter how yesterday ended, today is a new day and we make a choice to rejoice because this is the day the Lord has made. We are expecting God to do good things in our lives. God is a good God; He can turn around every bad of yesterday and make it good today, so, we rejoice.

As we continue examining and learning on Jesus’s teaching on faith, I want us to consider another aspect of great faith, as recorded in the teaching and the ministry of Jesus; there were two people to whom Jesus said you have great faith, one was this Roman centurion and the other one was this woman from Canaan. Interestingly, here is again a Gentile, she is not a Jewish woman, she is not a woman who has been taught in the scriptures and taught how to believe God and everything about the covenant of God, she has none of that. All she has is knowledge/ information, she has heard about Jesus and what He has been doing for so many people and so she decides to come to Jesus on behalf of her daughter, who has been tormented by evil spirits. This is in Mathew the fifteenth chapter, as she makes her way to Jesus, we don’t know all the background, but we should just imagine that perhaps its was a very busy day and Jesus was maybe resting, but the disciples tried to prevent in some way this woman from getting to Jesus. They tried to keep her away, but she makes her way to Jesus with her request- my daughter is grievously tormented and Jesus responds by giving a very theological statement if you look at it, He said, right now I have been sent to minister only to the Jewish people, so I can’t take the provision that is for them and make it available to the non-Jewish people. He is just following God the Father’s program, which is right now minister to the Jews and then later on the Gentiles, so, everything I have provided, minister it to the Jews, that is what He told her. She was not deterred by that, she worshipped Him, in other words she is saying to Him, all right with what you are saying theologically but right now I am embracing you as Lord. I am a Gentile, but now I’m stepping in and doing what the Jews would do, which is worship Yahweh, I am worshipping you. Jesus responded and said, ‘woman you have got great faith’. So, what is great faith? It is faith that will not take no for an answer. It is faith that is so persistent that it comes to this place and says God I worship you, even if everything is shouting a no, I still worship you, I will receive what you have promised- great faith. Great faith is persistent, is able to worship even when things are so contrary and so opposing, that is what this woman did. Let us be people of great faith- persistent, determined, may we express that through our worship, in the harshest of times.

Let’s pray, Father, we ask, that you will help us follow the example of this woman, and be people of great faith, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
