Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s presence and spend a few moments in the word and prayer. This week, we are talking about confession and we have come to the last day. Today, we will talk about peace that follows. Psalm chapter 32, verse 5, ‘I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.’ It is said that confession is good for our soul and body. The statement is not in the bible but the word of God indicates that when we confess, when there is true repentance, God forgives us in His mercy and we find peace with God. We are released from the guilt of our sin and we find comfort in the Lord’s unfailing love. Psalm chapter 32 describes this process beautifully. The psalm is divided into two parts, verses 1 to 5, the psalmist proclaims the joy of seeing his fault remitted by God. Verses 6 through 12, he shows his confidence in the conviction that God is the guide and He will guide us in the right path. The harm suffered by the psalmist is very hard to bear. David’s first problem was the sin he committed. Forgiveness was ready and waiting for David as he agreed with God about the nature and guilt of his sin. It opens with these words, ‘blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered’ and near the end it says, ‘the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in Him.’ The psalmist admits that trying to hide our sin will weigh heavily upon him. The guilt of sin became such a great burden that it sapped his strength. Deep down he knew he couldn’t hide form God so he gave up trying. What a relief that is, the weight of guilt can sometimes take us to a certain place but at one moment, we will have to give in. David’s confession of sin didn’t earn his forgiveness of sins but he received it through grace. Fellowship with God was restored, David was restored back, there was no probation, no wait and see period. Confession requires that we allow the light of God and the light of the Spriit of God, the word of God to penetrate to our hearts. Identify ungodly thoughts, words and actions and turn them over to God. God is able to forgive and Jesus is right here waiting for us, to accept us just the way we are. His love endures forever. This week, we have talked about confession, I want to encourage us, that each one of us will enter and go into God’s presence, confess our sins, walk in freedom, freedom that He has called us to live by. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for this week where we have learnt many aspects of confession and even as we continue our spiritual walk with you, that we will confess our sins to one another and you, that we will be transparent and that every time we confess our sins, you will cover with us with your love, strength and empower us to walk in holiness. Thank you for your promise, your word and your Holy Spirit. We give you all the praise, glory and honor, for you alone deserve it, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
