Overcome (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Welcome everyone, thank you for joining in. We continue to talk about the power of our words. I want to read for us from Revelation chapter 12 and verse 11, it says, ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.’ This is talking about the end time believers, and it shows us the various ways in which they overcome the enemy. One of the ways is, by the word of their testimony or the word that they speak of who God is and what God has done. That is so powerful, when we choose to say what God has said, when we choose to talk about of what God has done because it really lifts our spirit up and it gives us that overcoming capacity even against the enemy. We know that the enemy is described as the accuser of the brethren, satan is deceived as the father of all lies. So, the words that he speaks against the believer are lies and deception. To stand up against the lies of the enemy, what do we do? We speak about who God is, what God has done and that counters everything that the enemy is bringing against us. We’ve been talking about the authority of the words that we speak. Even as we speak the words that God has put in our mouth; we are releasing that authority, power, and dominion and through that we are overcoming the enemy is every circumstance and situation. As children of God, I just want to encourage us, I know that looking at the current circumstances, we might be tempted to just state facts as they are, not that we are denying facts, but we can state God’s word which is speaking a better thing about us, our lives, and our future. So, we can choose to speak God’s word, and when we choose to do that, what we speak about the kingdom of God, what is in the spiritual, will be released into the natural and we will see the kingdom of God manifesting in our midst. Choose to speak God’s word and overcome the enemy each time.

Let’s pray together, Father, we thank you for your word in our mouth, we thank you that it is a weapon against the enemy, and we pray that as we speak your word, we will see a conquest in every area of our lives. Thank you that the enemy is defeated and for the victory of Jesus, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
