Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and welcome to the last episode in this series of examples of obedience. I trust and hope that as we have looked into the lives of people in scripture and the way they lived out their obedience, it has brought about some understanding and revelation for us. Today, we are going to be looking at the most profound act of obedience that has ever been demonstrated and that comes from the life of Jesus whose obedience was rooted in love. We see that the obedience of Jesus was not about rules, it was about love, sacrifice and redemption. In Jesus, we find the epitome of obedience which led Him to the cross for my sake and for your sake. The obedience of Jesus was rooted in love. From the very beginning, the ministry of Jesus, was marked by His obedience to God, the Father and this is not out of obligation or duty but out of profound love and oneness and unity with the Father. Jesus said, He came down from heaven, not to do His will but to do the will of the one who sent Him and that He meant the Father. John chapter 14, verse 31 says, ‘but the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.’ Here we see, Jesus emphasized the depth of His love for the Father and how His obedience came as a result of that love. His obedience was a manifestation of the love that He had for God the Father. When He did exactly as the Father desired and commanded of Him, even to the point of death, even to the point of laying down His own life, Jesus demonstrated that life of love, that love driven obedience. This love not only included His relationship with Father but also included His love for us, love for mankind, love for humanity and in that obedience, He brought salvation to all who believe. This brings about a glimpse into this love revealing that a relationship that exemplifies what it means to live a life of obedience that is rooted in love. Jesus’s obedience that came out of love took Him to the cross and as a result brought salvation for you and me, where we can spend eternity with Him. Paul’s letter to the Philippians captures this perfectly; it shows that Jesus’ humility and obedience resulted in His exaltation and His salvation for many. What is our call? Our call is to obey and it is be rooted in the example that is set by Jesus. We obey Him because of our love for Him. His obedience was never about duty but it was because of His love for us. So, as we face challenges in our own faith, let’s remember the example of Jesus and choose obedience, not like an obligation but as an act of love and trust for the Father’s plan for our lives. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, thank you for the call that you’ve given over our lives. Thank you that you at us to obey you as a result of our love for you. May our love grow dep and deep so that we are never restrained in our obedience to you. Thank you for dying on the cross for us and the love you have for us, for obeying the Heavenly Father so we could be restored in our relationship with you. Thank you for your goodness and love over us, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
