Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Nourishment (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Nancy Ramya

Hello everyone, welcome and thank you for joining. We are looking at growing in God by His word. Let’s read 1 Peter chapter 2 and verse 2, it says, ‘As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.’ Apostle Peter was encouraging the believers to grow in their spiritual journey, he initially exhorts them about who they are in Christ and all that God has stored up as a reward and benefit for the believers and then he goes onto encourage them to keep growing in God. He shares about the feature of God’s word which is to nourish the believer, which is why he says, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby. He is making a comparison with a newborn baby and its desire to drink milk. We are all aware that a newborn baby has one focus and that is to receive its milk because that would be the source of nourishment and that will result in growth. For us as believers, there are any things in the world to distract us, however when we maintain our singular focus on the word of God and we take in the word of God, not just as information but as a source of nourishment, we will grow in God, we will move up in the progression of the life of a believer. So, we must take the word of God seriously and make time to understand it and imbibe it into our hearts. In the book of Proverbs, Proverbs chapter 4, talks about keeping the word of God in the midst of our hearts. In this manner, we should be able to take the word, not just read the word and forget it, but take it and put it into our hearts, it will become the source of our nourishment, it will become the source of our growth and from there we will be able to make the spiritual journey and keep going higher in God. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, for your word, which is powerful, able to build us up and give us an inheritance. We pray that we will receive your word, believe it, and grow by it. We give you thank, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
