Greetings and we trust you've had an enriching week, that you have experienced the blessing of God in all that you do you, even as His word says that God blesses us in all the works of our hands. This week, we have been looking at motives, the motives of our hearts and we bring this short study to a close and we just want to remind us that one of the things, very important things that we need to do is to go before God and say God, you check the motives of my heart. In Psalm chapter 139, verses 23 and 24, the psalmist says this, he says ‘search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; on my thoughts and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.’ A very simple prayer, but a very important prayer that we constantly go before God and we are just completely open before God and we say Lord search my heart, you know my heart. Try my thoughts, see if there's anything wrong, are the motives of my heart pure? And God, if there is something wrong, correct my heart, correct the motives of my heart and lead me in the way everlasting, lead me in the right path, change my heart, give me the right motive in whatever I'm doing. It says, you and I, go about our everyday life where we make important decisions, we take action, we plan, we have dreams, we have goals, we have aspirations, so many things that we are engaged in, in all of that, we go before God and say, God is my heart right before you? Is my motive right before you? If it's not right God, you give me the right motive, you give me the right attitude, you change my heart and God can do it. He can move us from what we saw as fleshly attitudes of envy, jealousy, contention, and self-seeking, He can move us to the right attitudes, heart motives, glorifying God, of love for God and love for people and humility. But we need to posture ourselves before God saying God search my heart, let my heart always be open to you. Let's pray, Father, we ask that you will help us just be open, transparent to you, for you to check our hearts, the motives of our hearts, to correct us where we are wrong, to change the motives of our hearts where it needs to be changed, so that our hearts is always right before you and may all we say and do come out of the pure motives of our hearts, thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
