Shalom and it's so good that you could join us today, even as we have been looking into living out the fruit of the Spirit. I hope this has really encouraged you and showed you how the Holy Spirit works in us, to manifest the fruit of the Spirit. Today, we look at faithfulness, the fruit of the Spirit and as we have been constantly reiterating that the fruit of the Spirit is the result of the working and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. What does faithfulness mean? Faithfulness means to be steadfast, to be constant, to stay on course, to not give up especially when there may be a time of discouragement. It is to stay on track and be sure of your beliefs, it is following your beliefs and purposes. Faithfulness is the working out of our faith in God. When we have faith in God, we are being faithful. Faithfulness is really believing that God is who He says He is and continuing in that belief despite the challenges of life. This means that we trust what God says and who He says He is in the Bible and not necessarily what the world may tell us. The only way we can have such faith is by the Holy Spirit's influence, He testifies to the truth and He impels us to seek God. The Spirit is the one who makes us faithful. Proverbs chapter 3, verses 3 to 4 reads, ‘let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck write them on the tablet of your heart. So, you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.’ Faithfulness is not to be forsaken. We read in Hebrews chapter 11, an account of faithful men and women. Many of them were ordinary people, they faced temptations and sin and difficulties like we do, they might have had their own mistakes but they continued to be faithful because they acted on the faith that they had in the Lord. So, how can you and I live out this faithfulness? God is faithful to us so He expects us to be faithful to Him. Being faithful to Him is to trust Him, to be loyal to Him, to live out our faith in Him by building and deepening our relationship with Him, to having an intimacy with God is a way of being faithful. Faithfulness is also showing integrity to all the things that God has entrusted to us. God has entrusted us with many things, He's called us to be stewards of our work, of our families, of our ministry, of our health and when we carry out these responsibilities in these different areas of influence, we are being faithful to what God has put us in charge to. How else do we live out faithfulness? When we actively choose to trust in God's promises especially when times are hard, we are resolving to remain faithful. Lastly, when we endure trials and temptations with unwavering faithfulness, we demonstrate the sovereignty of God and believe that all that He does is for our good. So, we can live out this faithfulness as a fruit of the Spirit and when we do so, we honor God and we really show out who God is to the world. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, Lord we pray that we will be faithful unto you, as you constantly are faithful to us. May we look to you and also be good stewards of all that you have faithfully entrusted to us. May we take things seriously and do things in in a way that will please you. We pray that we will grow in our faith and as a result in our faithfulness to you and to the things of God, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
