Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We have been studying God’s word and specifically we have been looking at some of the miracles that the Lord Jesus did during His earthly ministry and it is interesting to see that these miracles reveal the heart of God, character, nature of God and the will of God with regards to healing and miracles that we might be praying or contending and asking the Lord for. Today, we look at this incident where Jesus heals the man who was let down through the roof. We see this incident in Luke chapter 5, verses 17 to 26. The Lord Jesus is teaching as He usually did. There were Pharisees, teachers of the law and people had come from every town of Galilee, Judea and Jerusalem. Scripture says the power of the Lord was present to heal them. So, they received healing even as they were there listening to His teaching. Verse 18 says, ‘behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.’ The crowd was too great; they couldn’t access Jesus or physically come near Him or find out how to bring him in. So, they did something unusual and out of the box. They went to the rooftop and through the tiling of the roof, they actually let down this man near Jesus. The Lord Jesus saw their faith. He saw the faith of the man’s friends. They had such great faith, they knew that Jesus could heal, they knew they had to get this man to Jesus and they were not willing to say no to whatever obstacle which was there. Here it was a crowd and they couldn’t get near Jesus but they were unwilling to say no. They said we need to get, we want to see our friend receive this healing, and we want to see our friend walk. The Lord Jesus sees their faith and heals the man. It doesn’t say the Lord Jesus saw the faith of the man but saw the faith of the man’s friends and says, your sins are forgiven you. Then, when He says this, the Pharisees and scribes have these questions, who can forgive? Only God can forgive and the Lord Jesus perceives their thoughts and asks them why are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is easier to say, your sins are forgiven or to rise up and walk? But that you may know that the son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, I said this. He says to the man, ‘arise, take up your need and go to your house.’ The man rose and did the very thing that the Lord Jesus asked home to do. We see that the power of God heals in response to even other people’ faith and here in this case, this man’s sin had something to do with his condition and the one who got healed, no matter what condition, source or cause, the Lord heals. Everyone who witnessed this glorified God. Shall we pray?

Father, we thank you for your ministry of healing and wholeness in every incident that we read about builds faith in us, that it is in your nature and in your will to heal, that nothing is too difficult for you. Even as we draw near to you, we do so in faith. We ask that no matter what the cause, you heal. So, we ask today, if there are people who need your healing touch, let your healing be released in the name of Jesus and let your anointing be released in the name of Jesus. As you did so here in this incident, may it be so in the lives of people, people who cannot talk, let the walk in the mighty name of Jesus. We thank you, give you the glory and praise, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
