Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome, today we are looking at some of the scriptures that have inspired the writing of the songs by APC music. I don't know if you've heard the song ‘in your house’ and this has been inspired by Psalm chapter 27. Psalm chapter 27, is a wonderful Psalm, it talks about the fact that ‘the Lord is the Psalmist’s light and salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?’ and so on. It goes on to say that though an army comes around me or when I'm surrounded by the army, when I'm fearful, my heart shall not fear because in this I will be confident. Now this is beautiful, the Psalmist says, ‘one thing I have desired of the Lord, and what is that one thing? He says, this one thing I will seek, that I will dwell in the house of the Lord, that I may adore and look and inquire the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple. So, he's talking about being in the presence of God, being surrounded by worship. And he's saying this is one thing I will seek, this one thing I will desire, you O God, despite everything that's happening around. So, the presence of the Lord is our rock, our refuge, and our strong tower. The Psalmist also talks about the goodness of God, the grace of God. And one of the other things, thoughts that inspired this song is also the prodigal son and how he has wasted his living and he turns around and he's looking, and he wants to go back home, he's walking with all these apprehensions and all these fears and anxieties. Will he be accepted? Will he be welcomed? Will he be rejected? He's walking and, in the distance, he sees the father or rather the father sees him, and he runs towards the son, with arms open wide he welcomes him to the house, he welcomes him back, he restores him and there's rejoicing and there's dancing in the celebration. There's so much security and strength in the house of God, in the presence of God, in the dwelling place of God. That is something that we see. So, the goodness of God, the grace of God, the mercy of God, let's receive it, let's believe, let's go back and it is our strength, our sure foundation. Towards the end of the Psalm it says, ‘wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart.’ When we wait on the Lord, our strength is renewed, when we wait on the Lord, our vision is renewed, that fire is rekindled, and this Psalm is what it is. This song talks about and leads us into waiting on the Lord. So today wait on the Lord, meditate on His word, and get back to His presence and desire this one thing and may you experience His power, His presence in an amazing way. God bless.
