Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom, thank you for joining us once again and giving us the opportunity to meditate God's word alongside with you. We've been looking at a series of understanding how is it that we can please God. We looked at how pleasing God needs to be the greatest ambition for us, as believers. We are looking at scripture through this coming week, to know of the different ways that we can please God. Today, our focus is on pleasing God when we walk in the Spirit. Reading from Romans chapter 8, verses 8 and 9, ‘So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now, if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.’ Sometimes we feel afraid, or we feel that it's very daunting to please God. But this scripture shows us that this fear is unfounded when we are given all that is needed to please Him. We are told in the scripture that those who are in the flesh cannot please God, which in the contrary, it means those in the Spirit are those who will please God. So, we see in this scripture there are two mindsets, there's the mindset of the one walking in the flesh and the one walking in the Spirit. The one walking in the flesh is those who are fleshly and carnal and one walking in the Spirit are those who are spiritually minded, those who walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is one thing that pleases the Lord, to be in the Spirit rather than be in the flesh. We see Jesus being the only man who was capable of fully and perfectly pleasing God and we see that Jesus is there available to help us through the power of the Holy Spirit. So, what is walking in the Spirit mean? It means having a close friendship with God, it means having a close communion with God, it shows that we are pleasing God when we walk in tandem with God. But as against those walking in the flesh we see, are those who walk in enmity with God. So, what is walking in the Spirit look like in your everyday? It is to have a God consciousness, It is to know and be aware and conscious of the fact that God is watching, God is here, God is there in our every moment, it is having Christ foremost in all of our affections, placing Christ, having a priority of who He is in our lives, it is pursuing God with all of our hearts, it is living in the Spirit, it is relying and obeying the Spirit, finding out what it is to obey Him even in small things, keeping ourselves obedient to it. So, let's ensure that those of us who are of God, are walking in the Spirit. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we praise you, we thank you for showing us, for those of us who walk in the Spirit, please your heart. Lord, help us to live a life that is conscious of you, where we rely on and obey you in every walk of our life. May our lifestyles be marked by walking in the Spirit. Thank you because this pleases your heart, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
