Hannah - Turned to God (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone, thank you so much for connecting. We are talking about Hannah and learning some lessons for our own spiritual walk. Today, we consider the fact that Hannah directed her sorrows towards God. She kept her faith in her time of anguish and difficulty. In 1 Samuel chapter 1, verses 10 to 11, we see that Hannah was so bitter in her soul that she wept. She prayed to God. So, whenever we speak about Hannah reminds us of a woman who prayed, who trusted in God. For verses 12 to 13, we see the time when she stood in God's presence and she prayed. She was misunderstood for being drunk by the priest Eli. But the point here is that she did not run away from God's presence. The difficulties we face may make us take a step back from the things of God, where we are unable to read the word of God, we're unable to pray, we're unable to worship, we don't want to be part of fellowship, but in Hannah's case, it wasn't like that. She drew closer to God in her anguish and the word of God reminds us when we draw near God, He draws near us; this is the lesson we can learn from her life. We also notice that she poured out her heart before the Lord. Psalm chapter 62, verse 8, "Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah." We are reminded to open up our hearts before God and not hide away from Him because He knows all things and He's also concerned about our lives. I just want to encourage us with this word. Draw near to God, pour out your heart before the Lord because He cares for you. Let's pray together, Abba Father, we thank you, Lord, for this time. Lord, you are a God who sees, a God who understands. Even right now, as different ones of us go through things in our lives, help us to draw near to you and see our strength come from your presence. We thank you for doing it for us, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
