Hello and welcome everyone, we're taking time to consider the life of Hannah. We know that she was somebody who faced adversity and a great need in her life. She trusted in God and poured out her heart before the Lord and she also believed that God heard her prayer. Today, we will look at 1 Samuel chapter 1 verses 19 and 20, ‘Then they rose early in the morning and worshipped before the Lord and returned and came to their house at Ramah and Elkanah knew Hannah, his wife, and the Lord remembered her. So, it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son and called his name Samuel, saying, "Because I have asked for him from the Lord."’ Here is Hannah carrying the answer to her prayer for a child and that is Samuel. So beautiful to look at the statement there, "The Lord remembered her" and also, she named him Samuel saying, "Because I have asked for him from the Lord." God answered Hannah's prayer. And this is the God we serve, the God who answers our prayer. When we consider the life of Jesus, He always walked in answered prayer. There was not a time when He didn't have the Father intervene after a prayer. This is the life that God wants for us as believers, walk in answered prayer. We know that God's ears are open to the cry of the righteous. As we seek God, as we pray, let's pray with a heart of faith knowing that God is hearing our prayers and that He will answer. This is what Jesus taught us in John chapter 16, verses 23 and 24, ‘And in that day, you will ask me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will give you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive that your joy may be full.’ Jesus encouraged us to ask, we are called to ask according to God's will, according to God's purpose and we have the promise of God's answered prayer. Jesus said that when we pray, we ask the Father in the name of Jesus, He will give us. Even as we receive the answer to our prayer, it brings joy that that fills us up and overflows and this is God's heart for all of us that we may walk in answered prayer. In every situation, may we bring our needs, our requests, our petitions, our supplications, and our thanksgiving to the Lord in prayer. God hears our prayers and He answers us. Let's have faith in this. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are a God who hears. We thank you for the power in the name of Jesus. We thank you that even as we ask according to your will, you hear our prayer and you meet our need, Lord. Thank you, we worship you and bless you, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
