Hello and welcome everyone, we're talking about Hannah's life and learning some lessons for our own spiritual journey. Today, we will look at the kind of faith that Hannah carried. 1 Samuel chapter 1, verse 18, she said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight." So, the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.’ Very interesting to notice that a woman who was in anguish and great sorrow, someone who wept and did not eat because of what she was going through is suddenly finding peace and assurance. After she hears the words of blessing from Eli, she goes back no longer sad. What does this tell us about her? It tells us that she had faith even as she prayed. Now, there are times when we pray but that does not translate as assurance in our hearts. We pray and we wonder if God really heard us and that continues to trouble us. But in Hannah's case, she journeyed through this phase and she came to a point where she was convinced that God had already heard her prayer and that God would move on her behalf and that's the kind of faith we must display in our lives. Ephesians chapter 6, verse 16 says, "Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Faith is a shield and as we walk in faith, no matter what we go through, we can quench the darts that the enemy puts across and that's the assurance we receive when we pray in faith and submit our request to God. May we carry faith and walk in the answered prayer. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for who you are, unchanging God, the one who is true in all that you speak. Father, we thank you that we can boldly put our trust in your word and walk through our lives with a sense of great assurance. We worship you; we bless you, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
