Shalom and trust you are a having a wonderful day and we come to you presenting God’s word as a devotional and we hope and pray that these devotionals are helping you and building you. Through this week, we have been looking at and will continue looking at the topic on taking responsibility. We looked at how God has assigned us and entrusted us with responsibility and He desires us to carry these responsibilities out. When we are responsible with what God has given us or entrusted us, that becomes the key or the sign to God that we can be trusted with more, that we can be trusted with greater responsibility. How we do with little, really indicates how we will do with much. We are responsible for its proper use. It really matters how we steward our responsibilities. Looking at scripture in Luke chapter 16, verse 10, it says, ‘Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibility.’ These responsibilities could be in any area of our lives. For example, let’s say the way that we spend our time. When we use our time to honor God in planning and doing things that are needed for the purpose God has created us for, God gives us more opportunities, greater responsibilities and situations to make use of our time. The bible instructs that we need to walk carefully and watchfully, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time. As believers, we are called to purposefully, with good sense use our time and not as insensible people but as wise people, making the most of every opportunity we have. Our responsibilities could be even in the giftings and the talents God has given to us. We see in the parable of the talents that a master entrusts the servants with talents and he gives more to those who had been faithful with the few. In contrast, we see that the servant who did not use his talents wisely, it was taken away from him and given to another. Another example that we see is the way we are faithful with our material resources. When we keep the right focus and importance on tithing and giving to God, God entrusts us with more, He gives us greater responsibilities. The idea of to whom much is given, much will be required is that we are held responsible of what we have. If we are blessed with talents, with resources, with knowledge, with time, it is expected that we use it well for the glory of God because when we are responsible stewards, it positions us for greater responsibilities. Whatever area we maybe thinking about or you are talking about, let us be responsible to carry in faith and faithfulness, all that He has given to us so that He could endow us with greater responsibilities. Let us pray together, Heavenly Father, we ask your help to be responsible with things that you have given us. May we be good stewards of what you have given us and position us for greater responsibilities so that we could bring you honor and all glory. Thank you, God, for hearing our prayer, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
