Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We're so glad that we could study God's word together. We study God's word not just as an information but something that we can put our faith in because God is a promise keeping God and in fact that is what we are looking at. We are studying today that there is a promise for each one of us for every day of our lives that we can go to God when we encounter this promise in the reading of scripture, we can receive by faith into our own lives. Of course, the context of these promises is different and varied but it applies to us as disciples, as followers of the Lord Jesus. We look at Matthew chapter 7 and verse 7, where the Lord says to His people and this is part of the message that He gives to His people on top of the mountain and He teaches His disciples about various things and when He's teaching them about prayer this is what He teaches. Matthew chapter 7 and verse 7, ‘ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.’ So, we see two or three of these words which are action words/ verbs- ask, seek and knock. And the Lord promises, ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. Now this is a promise that God gave His disciples when He's teaching them about prayer. So, today, we might be in a place where we are praying for various things and maybe we have given up praying for various things because we didn't see it manifest or we didn't see the reality of it in our lives. If you look at these three words that we see here in this verse, ask-the Greek rendering of it means that you ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, knock and keep on knocking on the door. And this is in line with what the Lord Jesus taught His disciples, that parable about persistent prayer where He's saying, don’t be ashamed to ask over and over. It is not lack of faith to ask and to pray over and over again. The power of persistent prayer is what the Lord Jesus teaches His disciples and He's in fact giving His assurance and giving the green signal and saying you continue to do that. Many times, when we pray, we don't pray in faith but when we persist in faith that builds faith in our lives. When we persist and ask God in faith and we are asked encouraged to do that- ask, seek and knock. This is from the promise maker and the promise keeper. Shall we pray? Father, we come to you, we thank you for this promise- Ask and it'll be given, seek and you will find and knock and it'll be open to you. We come before you in faith and we ask those things even that we have forgotten, we ask for those things that we have given up on because of lack of faith and disappointment, we ask and seek and knock and we persist in prayer today, knowing fully well whom we are asking, whom we are seeking. We pray that you would answer speedily. Let there be breakthroughs, let there be healing, let there be wholeness and let there be answered prayers in response to this. We thank you; we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
