Welcome to Living Supernaturally, we're so glad that you could join us today as we study God's
word. God's word is living, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, and able to bring life
and faith and produce faith in us and strengthen us. It is so refreshing to study God's word. In
fact, the Bible says in Ephesians where we see that we are washed by the word of God. There is
so much of cleansing that happens as we read God's word. Not only that, but we are also
comforted when we read God's word. God's word brings in so much comfort that goes beyond
human reason and logic. Like people can say words of comfort and that is good. We can receive
that and God has placed people in our lives so that they can speak words of comfort and they
can comfort us and fellowship with us, that is great. But there are times when human words do
not bring comfort but God's comfort goes beyond human words, beyond human logic, and
beyond human reason and that's why He's called the God of all comfort. The God of mercies
and the God of all comfort which means that He is the ultimate source of comfort. And we look
into God's word, we see that there is so much comfort that comes back to us as we receive His
word, as we live by His word. So, we look at Romans chapter 8, verses 26 to 28 which says,
‘Likewise, the Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray
for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He
makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work
together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His
purpose.’ This scripture brings about so much comfort to us. It says the Holy Spirit helps us in
our weaknesses. In our weak moments, we do not even know what we should pray for, we do
not have words to pray. In those moments, I'm sure all of us have gone through those times,
gone through those moments when things are so numb, we don't feel anything and we don't
even have the words to pray or words to speak. It is especially in those moments; scripture
promises and says the Holy Spirit helps us. How does He help us? He knows that we don't know
what we should pray for. He knows and so He comes in and He makes intercession for us with
groanings. He's talking about the gift of the Spirit - gift of praying in tongues, gift of praying in
the Spirit. It says He searches the heart, He knows what the mind of the Spirit is, He makes
intercession according to the will of God. He makes intercession for the saints according to the
will of God and it says this, beautiful verse here right at the end and says, Now, we know that all
things work together for good to those who are the called to those who love God.’ And that's a
promise for us today and that's the comfort for us today. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for
this wonderful gift of praying in tongues and wonderful promise that the Holy Spirit, you know,
when we are weak and when we don't have words to pray, you pray for us, you make
intercession for us with groanings, not articulate words, but groanings which cannot be uttered.
And Lord, we thank you for this wonderful gift of praying in tongues. And Lord, we thank you
for this exhortation to continue to pray in tongues in order to receive that comfort that comes
from you, the eternal comforter. We thank you, we give you all praise and glory, in Jesus’
matchless name we pray, Amen.
