Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are looking into God's word to study God's word and specifically, we are looking into God's word to see that the God whom we worship, the Lord whom we follow, He is our comforter. And so, this is a place where we can go to- the word of God to receive daily comfort. And maybe if you are in a season of great trial and tribulation, of sorrow, maybe bereavement over the loss of a loved one, we are invited by God to be comforted. We are invited by Him, the one who is the comforter himself, the one who is a strength giver, the one who is the helper, the Holy Spirit, we are invited to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We are targets of the ministry of the Holy Spirit, especially if you're going through a season of bereavement. We are going to look at this verse, Psalm chapter 34 and verse 18 and this is what it says, ‘The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.’ May the Lord heal our broken heart today. Now maybe a trust was broken, maybe the hope was broken and cut off, maybe the loss of a loved one caused great grief and you are still in that season of mourning. Well, the Lord is near us, the Lord is near you. He knows that you have a broken heart, He knows what you're going through and the Lord is near you. And His comfort heals; His comfort strengthens us so that we can face our tomorrows boldly. In fact, in Luke chapter 4, verses 18 to 19, where the Lord talks about His mission, the Lord talks about how He is anointed for this particular mission because the Holy Spirit is upon Him. This is what He says, ‘The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.’ If you notice the very first thing He says ‘to proclaim, to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted.’ So, He has come for this very purpose to bring the good news and with that good news so that He can heal the brokenhearted. He has come to heal the brokenhearted. He is near you if you are of a broken heart and not just near but He wants to heal, He wants to bring about that healing and restoration. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you are the healer and you heal broken hearts. Father, we thank you that you are the comforter and your comforter brings in so much strength and restoration to us. And Lord, even at this time we pray for those who are going through a season of bereavement and grieving the loss of loved ones or maybe they are grieving something, where their hope has been cut off, we pray right now, bring about a change of situation, bring about a change so that let them be healed of their broken heartedness and let them be receiving the comfort. Let them be recipients of the comfort that comes from you, the God of all comfort. We thank you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
