Hello and welcome everyone, thank you so much for joining. Let's continue to meditate on God's peace. We begin by reading a scripture from Isaiah chapter 53 and verse 5, ‘But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed.’ This passage speaks about the work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. From the New Testament, we understand that the work that Jesus did on the cross is a finished work. He defeated satan completely. Colossians chapter 2, verse 14, ‘Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us, and he has taken it out of the way having nailed it to the cross.’ He has completed the work of our forgiveness. While we believe that Jesus has bought forgiveness on the cross for us, sometimes we may struggle to believe that peace is also something that He has won for us on the cross of Calvary. We just saw the passage from Isaiah chapter 53, where it says the chastisement for our peace was upon Him. In other words, the punishment for my shalom was on the Lord Jesus. By His stripes, I have received healing. By the work that He has done on the cross, I have received forgiveness. And in the same way, because He was punished for me, I have received peace and this is something for us to remember. The work of the cross has paid for our peace. We can receive from the work of the cross. Peace is our portion and we can walk in it. Let's believe, and let's receive this peace that is available for us because of the work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the work of the cross. We thank you for your great love, we thank you that you have purchased our peace and we know that we can and will walk in your peace all the days of our life. We give you praise and glory, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
