Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today and spend these few moments in God’s word and in prayer. We’ve been taking about; do we still need Christmas? We’ve been reflecting on a few reasons why it is so important to take time to celebrate, to remember, not only the birth of Jesus that took place 2000 years ago but who Jesus is to us today. Celebrating Christmas is not so much as about just doing something in memory of but it is doing something in recognition of the fact that the one who was born 2000 years ago is still transforming our lives today, is alive and real and that is what celebrating Christmas about. Celebrating that Jesus Christ is our savior, He is the one who gives us eternal life, He is the one who came to be Immanuel God with us and He is the one who is the mediator, the one who brings us to God, that is Christmas, celebrating Jesus. On the very first Christmas night when Christ was born, there was celebration and giving of thanks. At the time of His birth, there was a giving of thanks. In Luke chapter 2, verses 13 and 14, ‘And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" So, that very first night when Christ was born, the angels were glorifying God and declaring peace of earth. Sometime later, as Christ was brought into the temple, there was a prophetess Anna and what did she do when she recognized the child Jesus? It says in Luke chapter 2, verse 38 it says, ‘And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.’ Do we still need Christmas, do we still need to thank God? Do we still need to glorify God and praise Him for sending Jesus? Of course, we do! We usually give thanks everyday and it is so wonderful that at this time of the year, everyone coming together all over the world and doing one thing, they are glorifying God and saying thank you for sending Jesus. Do we still need Christmas? Do we still need to thank God? Yes, we do and that is what this Christmas season is about, giving thanks to God for sending Jesus into our world. Let’s pray, Lord, we thank you for sending Jesus, for what Jesus did for us and how He changes our lives for the truth of your word and the work of you Spirit. We thank you and glorify you, we say, glory to God in the highest, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
