Greetings and thank you so much for joining us today. As we get started with a brand-new year, we brought the word of the Lord; the Lord will bring increase more and more. I want you to expect increase in your life because that's the God we serve, we serve the God of increase, the God of multiplication, the God who can cause that increase to come into our lives. I want us to expect increase even in famine that means even if your situations are telling you, it's impossible for you to have increase this year, I still want to encourage you to expect increase. You say that doesn't make sense; how can I expect increase? Well, let's look at an example in the Bible in Genesis the 26th chapter, verses 1 to 6 and 12 to 14 is what I'm referencing, we're not going to read the whole passage but I'll just summarize that for us. In Genesis chapter 26, we read about Isaac, that's Abraham's son. The Bible tells us that there was famine in the land and so Isaac, he is intending to do what his father Abraham did when there was a famine during Abraham's time. During Abraham's time, when there was a famine, Abraham went down to the fertile plains of the river Nile, down into Egypt and he stayed there for some time and then he came back. So, Isaac is intending to do the same thing or he's planning to do the same thing. Then God speaks to Isaac and says Isaac, I want you to stay right here because I can take care of you. There's famine in the land, the normal thing is to go to the fertile plains of the river Nile. But God is saying Isaac you don't need to do it, just stay where you are and I will take care of you. Isaac stays in the land and the Bible says in verses 12 and 13, ‘then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous.’ Think about this, this doesn't compute, this doesn't add up, why? Because there's famine in the land and God says, you stay right here and Isaac sows in the land, that means he does his part, he worked even though there is famine, there is drought and however the famine was happening at that time. In that time of famine, as Isaac is sowing, God is blessing and he gets hundredfold of what he sowed because the Lord blessed him. The scripture says the Philistines saw this and they became jealous of Isaac, how is this happening. Well, the message is simple, God can cause us to prosper, God can bring increase in our lives despite the circumstances and despite what's around us. Don't let the circumstances dictate whether or not you can have increase because it's not about the circumstances, it's about God who can bless you, it's about God who can cause increase to happen in your life despite what the circumstances around you are like. So, expect increase! If God did it for Isaac, He can do it for you, He is no respecter of persons and the covenant of Abraham is effective in your life and mine because we are Abraham's descendants in Christ, that's affected in your life and mine. Expect increase! Let's pray, Father, despite our situations, despite what things around us may tell us, we expect increase. Cause us to increase in our walk with you, in our anointing, ministry, finances, in every area, let there be increase. The Lord will bring increase more and more, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
