Determine To Conquer (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to spend these few moments with you in God’s word and prayer. We’ve been talking about the word of the Lord for 2024 and just been encouraging us in different aspects of it and I want to impress on our hearts today that we must determine to conquer in 2024. Conquer through faith, but in order to do so we must be determined to conquer. In Hebrews chapter 11, verses 33 and 34, the passage that we read as part of the word of the Lord, it says, ‘By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days, who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.’ These were people who were determined to see victory, who were determined to conquer. There are many examples in the Old Testament that Hebrews chapter 11 is pointing to and we can look at each of them and recognize that each one of them were determined to stand in faith, were determined to believe God no matter what. So, you and I today in our day and time must be determined to conquer, fight till the end, to give it all you’ve got, to say I will see what God has promised, I will see it come to pass, I’m standing here based on what God has spoken to me and I am determined to fight the good fight of faith, I’m determined to stand on what God has said, I’m determined to have what God says is mine, I’m not letting go, I’m not giving this fight up easily. None of the Old Testament saints that Hebrews chapter 11 is pointing to were people who just gave up easily. No, they didn’t, they were determined to conquer and God saw them through. So, in our day and time, we must be determined to conquer. Fight the good fight of faith, don’t turn your back and walk away from battle because you are going to conquer through faith, keep fighting. Let’s pray, Lord, we ask you for the grace and the strength to be determined to conquer, to take our Jericho’s, subdue our adversaries, to fight till we see victory, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
