Hello everyone, excited to speak about creativity. We have seen so far that God is a creative God and He reveals Himself through the works that He does, His works are good, He Himself appreciates and delights in His own accomplishments. Today, I want to encourage each one of us that God has created us just like Him. We read in Genesis chapter 1, verses 26 and 27, that God created us in His own image and He also gave us authority, dominion to be good stewards of the world that He entrusted into our hands. In all of this, we must also recognize that He has given us the same kind of abilities, He has given us understanding, He has given us creativity, He has given us skill, He has given us strength and we can apply all of this to do whatever God wants us to do. Now, all of us may not necessarily be artists, some of us we like art, the others might like music, some others might like some other form of expression but whatever it is we are creative by nature, by design we are creative and we can use the abilities that God has given us to create things for His glory. I want us to consider the time when the tabernacle was being built. Exodus chapter 31, verses 1 to 3, tell us about a man called Bezalel who was filled with the Spirit of God to do artistic works. This was the time when the tabernacle for God was being built and God had given the design or the blueprint to Moses and He wanted Moses to instruct the workers and get it done. I will quickly read verse 3 of Exodus chapter 31, ‘And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.’ We see that God is the one who gave Bezalel creative ability. To do what? To do the artistic works of the tabernacle. As we read these passages in Exodus, we also see that they trained several other men because just Bezalel and another person, they were unable to complete such a huge task. So, all these people had the strength of God, the ability of God to work creatively. What did they make? They made beautiful furnishings, curtains, accessories, uniforms specified by God and everything was made for the glory of God and everything was made signifying the beauty of God. These passages draw our attention to the fact that God likes creative expression and He Himself enables people, He blesses them with wisdom, understanding, and skill to be artistic. So, whatever it is you and I are pursuing, it could be some form of creative expression, go ahead and pursue it because God is the one who can give you the skill that you need to excel in it. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, thank you for creating us in your own image. Lord, thank you that you have given us the ability to create beautiful things. I pray that your anointing will rest upon each one of us that we will do these beautiful works to glorify your name, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
