Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We trust and pray that these devotions are helping each one of us, to build our lives and our knowledge of God. Through this series, we have been looking at the fear of the Lord. We have spent the last few days, understanding the benefits and the blessings that we have, when we fear the Lord.

We are looking at another benefit for today and for that, we read from scripture from Proverbs chapter 14 and verse 26, ‘In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.’ This verse brings a specific benefit when we walk in the fear of the Lord. It talks about a strong confidence and a place of refuge. So, fear and confidence are like opposites, they are considered opposites and one might think that fear always leads to a lack of confidence, but that really isn’t how it works with the fear of the Lord. Confidence is a popular subject today in our world around. We are told to live confidently, to live brashly, brazenly, to live boldly. In many ways, the theme of modern society is to be self-confident. Let’s look at what confidence means, confidence is a firm belief, it is a trust, it is a reliance, it is a position of being certain and assured of something that we put our weight in. In the world, we are taught to lay our confidence in many things that we understand do not hold any strength. But what does the Bible teach us about the source of confidence? We saw that in our verse today, that the fear of the Lord is where we have our strong confidence. The strong confidence comes because of our reverence to God. When we relate to God as the source of strength and might, we know that our source of confidence also comes from God. He is our very secure and stable confidence. This verse also brings about another benefit, it says the fear of the Lord, is a place of refuge and security. As man, we can look to many things that help us to be secure, it could be our houses, our jobs, our investments, our properties, our retirement plan but our true refuge and security comes from the Lord Himself, it comes from our reverence to Him. It gives us strong confidence and it keeps us away from all the negative things that may shatter us or make us afraid. Our honor, our reverence and sense of awe towards God, moves us away from that self-confidence into the strong confidence of who God is, that confidence in the love of God. As we build ourselves and our relationship with God, the more that we fear and worship the Lord, we grow to be strong and confident in who He is, and we build our refuge and our security in Him.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, that you are our source of confidence, you are our source of security and refuge and when we continue to revere and fear you, you will build our confidence, shifted from our self-confidence into this strong confidence of who you are. Thank you for such a beautiful privilege, we ask all things in your name, Amen.
