Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. Today, we will discuss on peace of Christ. Colossians chapter 3, verses 14 and 15, ‘And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.’ The apostle Paul is talking about Christians and calling them to peace and thanksgiving. For him, these attitudes do not depend on happy experiences or spiritual training but peace and thanksgiving come from Christ alone. This literally pictures the binding or joining together of that which has been separated or divided. Before Jesus left the earth, He promised His disciples a peace unlike any other, declaring ‘peace, I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give you. So, let not you heart be troubled or fearful.’ The peace that Jesus gives is not only peace we experience when there is conflict but this is a sense of wholeness, well-being, completeness and totality. Ultimately, the peace of Christ is even more in a sense the very presence of Christ. Although certainly, peace in our heart is a part of discerning God’s will. The context speaks more of our interpersonal relationships of those in the body of Christ. Our heart is like the control center, a good place to have the peace of Christ ruling. Keep on becoming thankful means we need to allow it to be a habitual practice. Praise on the lips naturally flows out of peace in one’s heart. When we do not have peace in our heart or in the local body, we are not likely to offer up sincere thankfulness to God. The Christian out of God’s will is never found giving sincere praise to God. When David covered up his sins, he lost his peace and praise. When he confessed his sins, his song returned. When Christ’ peace rules in our heart, it changes is and our view of the world and its circumstances. It gives us strength to meet our challenges with grace and humility and no matter what, you and I, are called to walk in peace and to be thankful.

Let us pray, Father, we thank you for these important instructions that you have given us in your word. We pray that you will teach us to walk in peace, to allow the peace of Christ to dwell richly in our hearts and help us to walk in an attitude of thankfulness. Even when things are not going our way, help us to look to you and know that you are leading and guiding us and have the best for us. We commit ourselves to you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
