Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, so good to have you back and we are really excited about looking at God's word together. We've been meditating on the cross and the Great Exchange, where the Lord Jesus did something on the cross, an instrument of pain, torture and death and it became a symbol of hope and that was because of the Great Exchange that happened on the cross. So, today we are looking at one other aspect of it which is the Lord Jesus extended blessings because of the Cross instead of curses. Blessings in place of curses. Now this Great Exchange was a work of the Lord Jesus and it was accomplished by Him and Him alone and you might have you might have this question, how can I have access to this Great Exchange? How can I have access to it? How can I walk in it, receive it and enjoy it consistently? Well the fact is that we can have access to it only by faith, faith in what He has done, in humility accepting, acknowledging what He has done on the cross and by faith receiving it into our own lives blessings in place of curses! So, what is a blessing? A blessing is a good thing, it is something good that is happening, it's something great and positive, it is affecting all realms of our life emotionally and physically and spiritually. It's a good thing, it affects us maybe in terms of career, in terms of finances, in terms of relationship with God, with people, everything it's a good thing that's happening. At the same time a curse is a negative blessing. We look at some negative things leading to destruction and pain and strife and so on, so that's a curse. So, this is what scripture says in Galatians chapter 3 and verse 13 and 14, it says, ‘Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.”’ Verse 14 ‘that the blessings of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.’ A wonderful verse and gives us so much comfort and hope and instill so much faith in us, in the Lord because it says that Christ has redeemed us which means it's already done and where was this done? It was done on the cross, it says having become a curse for us on the cross, that we might receive and enjoy the blessings of Abraham. Now if you want to look at and maybe expand our understanding about what is the scope of blessings and what are all these curses it's good if we look into the book of Deuteronomy and chapter 28 the entire chapter, verses 1 to 14 talks about the blessings, it talks about blessings materially, it talks about blessings relationally and so on. Verses 15 onwards till the end of the chapter it talks about curses, it talks about all the negative things that could happen. Well on the cross all these curses were taken away so that we could receive and walk in the blessing. So, today if you're struggling, if you're saying there's something happening in my life I'm not in control of and I seem to have opened the door for the enemy to walk in, well today is the day to shut that door and say I receive this blessing, I receive what Christ is offering to me and I receive it through faith. Let's pray, Father, we thank you Lord for your heart that is to bless us and Lord we thank you that you do not withhold any good thing from us as your word says. Lord we thank you that you dealt with every curse upon the cross when you bore every curse and you became a curse for us that we might receive and enjoy the blessing of Abraham and today God we pray we come under your blood covering, we come under that place of grace and we say, we receive it, let everything that is of the enemy be broken and let it be neutralized and taken away in Jesus’s name and may we enjoy each and every blessing that you have poured out into our lives, in Jesus’s matchless name we pray, Amen.
