Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally, where we take a few moments to meditate on God’s word and pray together. This week, we have been talking about being chosen in God’s kingdom. You and I are adopted into the family of God. Romans chapter 8, verse 14 and 15, ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”’ Adoption is a legal contract that completely transforms the status of a person. It refers to love being expressed in action. Take for example, there is a young orphan in the streets and a rich man comes and says, ‘I’m going to adopt this child’. Immediately, the position or the status of this child has changed. He has gone from being an orphan to a child of a rich man. Salvation is God’s act of adopting spiritual orphans into His eternal family. Sonship refers to our adoption as children of God. This life transforming grace and love is what makes the Christian faith unique and joyful. God chose you; God selected you and adopted you to be part of His family. The idea of being chosen is very simple, that God loves us, and He wants us to be His children. Nothing else, no works, no merits, no righteousness, no deeds of ours can do it, but it is only the love of God, the Father upon our lives. Our life and our salvation are ultimately dependent on this one thing, the love of God on our lives and through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and the anointing and outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon us, we become fully renewed children of God. How do you feel knowing that God has chosen you and adopted you into His family? Let’s pray, Father, we want to thank you for your grace and your mercy. We thank you for adopting us into your family, into your eternal home. Lord, we pray that we will walk in this authority that you have placed on our lives, that we will walk in this identity and know that you have called us for a purpose. I pray that your grace and mercy upon each one of us, even as we fulfill your call upon our lives, grant us the grace and grant us your strength, grant us your wisdom and anointing, we thank you Father, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
