Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Action (Daily Devotional)

Greetings, thank you so much for the opportunity to journey with you this week, as we've been talking about feeding on the word of God and we've been looking at various ways, various aspects of how we can draw nourishment from the scriptures, as we read the scriptures. Today, as we close this week, I want to remind us of something very important. The bible says that we should not only be hearers of the word, but we must be doers of the word, so that's the ultimate objective that is, as we read the scriptures, we receive illumination, revelation, we meditate in the scriptures, we contemplate, we visualize, we confess the word, we do all of that, we engage with the word so that now the word can affect change in our lives so that we become doers of the word. James highlights this for us in James chapter one, I'll read just two verses, he says there in verse 22, ‘but be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.’ So, he says, if we just hear the word, just read the word, close the bible, keep it away, then we are wasting our time and just deceiving ourselves. But he says, you hear the word and be a doer of the word. He continues in verse 25, he says, ‘he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and it's not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.’ That means, he's not a forgetful hearer, a forgetful hearer is somebody they hear the word, and they forget what they've heard, they don't do it, it doesn't go past that. But a person who is not a forgetful hearer is somebody who hears the word and then they'd say I'm going to live by that, I'm going to begin to act by it, I'm going to change my actions, I'm going to change my behavior, I'm going to let the word affect me so that I begin to follow the word. James says the person who's the doer of the work, that is he is a doer of the word, he will be blessed in what he does. So, part of feeding on the word really also involves us doing the work, translating the word of God into action, saying God, if this is what your word says, I'm going to obey it, I'm going to follow it, I'm going to practice it, I'm going to align myself to it. And as the word becomes action, it becomes our way of life, then we know that the word of God, it's not only nourishing our inner man, but the reason God gave His word to us is being fulfilled. We are being changed according to the word of God. Our lives are being transformed by the word of God. We are really being strengthened by the word of God. So, when you and I read the word we say God, not only do I want to understand it, but I want to obey it. I'm going to align myself to what I see the bible tells me to do, I'm going to live by the word of God. So, feed on His word so that you can live by His word. Let's pray, Father, we ask you for the grace to be doers of your word. We don't want to be forgetful hearers, but we want to be people who will do the word and be blessed in all that we do, thank you for helping us, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
