Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing, our helper He amid the flood, of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe, does seek to work us woe; his craft and power are great, armed with cruel hate, on earth is not his equal.

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, we are doing a series called Songspiration. We are looking at the early hymns, the songs that the church has been singing over the years. Their words have been inspiring to the church, the body of Christ and the life of the songwriters as well. On 31st October 1517, in Whittenburg, Germany, a priest by name, Martin Luther, nailed his list of 95 thesis to the door of the cathedral of Whittenburg. The church had become very feeble spiritually, the gospel was not preached, the word of God was in fact hidden and it was not made available for the people. It was in a very sad state when he did this. Martin Luther by this act ignited the fire of reformation that spread rapidly. People’s eyes were opened, that salvation was not by works but through faith in the Lord Jesus, in the finished work of the Lord on the cross. This also resulted in a lot of persecutions for the church, especially for those who were following Martin Luther at that time and for Martin Luther himself. So, fearing Martin Luther’s safety, a friend took him to the shelter of a castle, where he spent days and months in solitude, in prayer, in reading the word of God, in writing and translating the bible from Latin into the German language because he wanted everyone to be able to read the word of God. He also believed very strongly that there should be congregational singing, where people of God gathering together, should be able to sing and worship the Lord. One such hymn that he wrote was this- a mighty fortress is our God, and he wrote this in 1527, inspired by Psalms chapter 46. This hymn is a bold affirmation of a powerful and a loving God. Though Martin Luther was excommunicated from serving in the church of that day, he continued to preach and teach the gospel and this majestic hymn was sung at his funeral, with the first line of the song engraved on his tombstone. This hymn was translated into English by Fredrick Hedge. So, let’s sing this together.

That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them abideth, the Spirit and the gifts are ours, through him who with us sideth, let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also; the body they may kill, God’s truth abideth still, his kingdom is forever.

Shall we pray? Father, we thank you Lord, for these fires of reformation and revival that brought so much change. We thank you for revealing your truth to mankind, that salvation is not by works but by faith and through grace. Today, we pray that we will not put up with a form of religion, denying its power, but we will continue to pursue the authentic and the real, each and every day of our lives, that we will put our faith and trust in you. Let our faith in you be strong and fiery, that our walk with you will be authentic, we thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
