Sermons church in Bangalore

Greetings! and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today and spend some time with you in the word of God and pray with you. This week, we are reflecting on what does it mean to be after God's heart. What would it look like in everyday life? You see all of us are busy with life, we’re going through various things, we have various responsibilities, things that we have to attend to and in the middle of all that, how could we be people after God's heart? You think of David, David was a young man, at that time in his life, all his responsibility was to take care of his father's sheep and he was known at that time to be a very skillful player upon the harp or the instrument that he had. He was known to be a man who was bold and courageous because he took care of his father's sheep, killed the lion and the bear that attacked, he was known for those things and in those little responsibilities that he had, he stayed true to the heart of God. And while his responsibilities at that stage in life may not have been as big or as great as what you and I may have to carry, the important thing is we must learn to be people after God's own heart. How do we do that? I want to present another facet to being after God's own heart and that is to stay tuned to his heart. That means my heart is hearing from His heart, my heart is receptive to the things He's communicating to me. Or if you want to put it like this, the ears of my heart are not closed to what He's speaking to me. I'm in tune, I'm open, my receiver is connected to what He is sending across and I'm hearing from Him, I'm tuned to the heart of God and that is important for us to be able to live after His own heart. Now, in order to hear from God, we must be active, hearing from God is not a passive thing that I just go to sleep and suddenly I hear this loud, thunderous voice speaking to me. No. Usually and most often and perhaps almost always, the voice of God is a still small voices, the voice of God is a very gentle voice, easily overlooked, but a heart that is after His own heart, is a heart that is so tuned to Him, so that the voice of God becomes the loudest of all the voices that seem to be coming in. Of course, there are many voices around us, many things that are speaking to us, but when we tune in to that still, small voice and are attentive to Him, then His voice becomes the loudest to us. Jesus said, my sheep will hear my voice and they will not hear the voice of any other, of a stranger, see there are the voices of strangers, but the sheep is tuned into the voice of the shepherd, that's the heart that follows after His heart, a heart that is tuned to His heart. May our hearts be tuned to His heart to hear His voice so we can follow after Him. Let's pray, Father, we ask that you help us be tuned into your heart, to hear your voice clearly, the voice of our shepherd as we His sheep follow Him so that we can be people after your own heart, in Jesus’s name., Amen.
