Promises For Divine Protection - His Angels Watch (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you for joining us today. As always, it is our joy and delight to come to you and spend a few moments in God’s word and prayer. Today, we are going to look at a very familiar Psalm, Psalm chapter 91, we will read a few verses from it. From verses 10 to 12, it says, ‘No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ We will also look at Proverbs chapter 19, verse 23, ‘The fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.’ Psalm chapter 91 is a favorite psalm for many of us; it is a psalm of divine protection start to finish. It is talking about how God protects us. We have just read a few verses but that is kind of confidence and assurance we must have, that we must believe that no evil shall befall me, no plague will come near my dwelling because God has given His angels charge over me to keep me in all of my ways. They bear me up in their hands as I dash my foot against a stone. Proverbs chapter 19, verse 23 says, when we fear God, our path is filled with life and we will not be visited with evil. Evil will not visit me, that is according to God’s word. Evil is not welcome here. Calamity and mishap is not welcome here. So, we don’t expect that. Job said the thing I greatly feared has come upon me. Job feared all these calamities and his fear opened the door to these calamities. His fear is what led the devil come in and do those things. He said the thing I greatly feared has come upon me. So, we should have no fear of harm, danger and calamity. Like Proverbs says, we will not be visited with evil. No evil shall befall me because God divinely protects me, that is our confidence and that is what we believe and expect.

Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and assurance that we who dwell in the secret place of the Most high, we abide under the shadow of the Almighty. We say the Lord is our refuge and strength. No evil shall befall us, we will not be visited with evil because your angels guard and protect us, we thank you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
